Yonder Privacy Policy
Last change: 3 October 2026
Yonder is a voice app for Claude Code, made by a business in Canada ("Yonder", "we" or "us"). This policy tells you what personal information we collect, why, who gets it, and how you can delete it. It applies to yonder.so and to the Yonder apps for the Mac, the iPhone and Android. Read it with the Terms of Service.
The short version
- Your code and your projects stay on your Mac. We do not copy them to a server.
- During a voice call, the sound of your microphone goes to xAI, the company that makes the voice.
- For an account, we keep your email, your plan and your call time. Stripe takes the payments. We never see your card.
- The phone and the Mac encrypt their messages end to end. We cannot read them.
- We do not sell your data, we show no ads, and we do not train AI models on your data.
What we collect
- Your account: your email, your password as a salted hash, and the dates of your sign-up and your last sign-in. You need an account only for a paid plan or for the calls that Yonder pays for.
- Your plan: the plan and the status of your subscription from Stripe.
- Call time: the length of each call, to count the minutes of your plan. We do not get the audio or the words of a call.
- Connection records: when the phone connects to the Mac, with a random ID of the device. These records do not contain your email or your IP address. We use them to count usage and to find problems.
- Feedback: the ideas and votes that you post on yonder.so/feedback. The ideas are public, but the board does not show who posted them.
- The site: the home page counts visits with DataFast analytics (pages, the site that sent you, browser, device type and country). The site uses cookies to keep you signed in.
What stays on your devices
Claude Code runs on your Mac with your own Claude account. The agents, their conversations and your files stay on your Mac, and what you ask an agent goes from your Mac to Anthropic under your own agreement with Anthropic. Messages, photos and previews between your phone and your Mac are encrypted end to end, and we cannot read them.
Voice calls
The voice of Yonder is the realtime voice API of xAI. During a call, the app connects directly to xAI and sends the sound of your microphone, the names of your projects and agents, the short results that the voice reads to you, and your location only when you ask for it. xAI processes this data under the privacy policy of xAI. The audio does not go through our servers.
Permissions of the phone app
- Microphone: only while a call is live.
- Camera: to scan the pairing code and to take a photo for an agent.
- Photos: only the photos that you select. They go to your Mac.
- Location: only when you ask for it during a call.
- Notifications: when an agent finishes or waits for you. Your Mac sends them through Apple.
How we use your data
We use your data to run Yonder, to take payments, to send emails about your account, to answer you, to prevent abuse, to improve Yonder and to obey the law. We send marketing email only with your consent, and each one has a link to stop it. We do not use your data for advertising or to train AI models.
Who gets data
We share data only with the companies that run parts of Yonder for us, and only the data that each one needs:
- Stripe: payments, under the privacy policy of Stripe.
- xAI: the voice of the calls.
- Our hosting provider: our servers and our database.
- Cloudflare: network protection and email.
- DataFast: analytics of the home page.
- Google: the fonts of the site.
- Apple: notifications on the iPhone.
We can also give data when a law or a court order requires it.
Where we keep data
Our servers are in the European Union. Our providers can process data in the United States and in other countries. When you use Yonder, your personal information can go to countries outside Canada, where the laws can be different and the authorities can have legal access to it.
How long we keep data
We keep the data of your account until you delete the account. Canadian tax law requires us to keep the payment records for up to 7 years.
Delete your account
Sign in on yonder.so, and open Account, Delete account. We delete your account and its data at once, and a paid plan ends. If you cannot sign in, write to us from the email of your account. The data on your Mac stays on your Mac until you delete it.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25 and the laws of your country, you can ask us to give you access to your personal information, to correct it, to delete it, to give you a copy, or to stop a use of it. Write to [email protected]. We answer in 30 days or less. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), in Quebec to the Commission d'accès à l'information, or to the data protection authority of your country.
Security
We use HTTPS and end-to-end encryption, and we store passwords only as salted hashes. No system is fully secure. If a breach causes a real risk of significant harm to you, we tell you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Yonder is not for children under 13. If you think that a child gave us personal information, write to us, and we delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we change the date at the top. For an important change, we tell you by email or in the app first.
